People often get the wrong idea about what life coaching is. And Life Coaches often find themselves correcting many misconceptions. One of them is that coaches tell clients what to do. Novices might hear the word “coach” and think sports. But athletic coaches generally are in charge, setting the goals and the path to victory. With life coaching, it’s the client who sets the goals and choose the agenda for each session. Coaches are not advisers, consultants, or counselors. Well-trained coaches don’t impose their beliefs or expertise on clients. Instead, they help clients discover what they want in life on their own, and “dance in the moment” with them, aiding them in creating visions and goals for ALL aspects of their lives, and strategies to support achieving those goals.
